Vienna, Austria — September 15, 2025. The CityGallery Vienna came alive this week as PAGTITIPON – A Festival of Filipino Arts celebrated the rich creativity and cultural heritage of the Philippines in the heart of Europe. Running from September 15 to 20, the festival gathered three distinguished artist groups—SIGE!, BASTEDOR Art Project, and the Angono Ateliers Association—in a vibrant showcase of contemporary Filipino artistry.

“Pagtitipon,” which means “getting together” in Tagalog, lived up to its name. The vernissage drew a whole house of artists, supporters, and art lovers, all eager to experience the diversity and dynamism of Filipino visual expression. Works on display reflected both traditional roots and modern perspectives, highlighting the community’s deep well of creativity while bridging cultures across continents.

Organizers described the festival as more than just an exhibition—it was a cultural gathering. By uniting Filipino artists and audiences in Vienna, the event fostered a sense of shared identity and strengthened artistic bonds among the diaspora.

The setting at CityGallery Vienna by PublicArtists (Mahlerstrasse 11, 1010 Wien) provided an elegant backdrop for the week-long program, which featured not only visual art but also discussions on cultural heritage, community, and the power of creativity to connect people.

Visitors praised the festival for its warmth and inclusivity, noting how the collaborative spirit among the three groups brought a uniquely Filipino energy to the city’s art scene.

As the final day concluded, organizers expressed gratitude to everyone who made the gathering possible and to the audiences who showed their support. Events like PAGTITIPON remind us that even thousands of miles from home, Filipino culture continues to thrive—vivid, resilient, and inspiring.

The Vernissage is open to the public until September 20, 2025 at the CityGallery Vienna by PublicArtists, Mahlerstrasse 11, 1010 Wien.
