Since its beginnings in 1999 and its official organization in 2000, Igorot Austria has become a vibrant home away from home for Igorots in Austria, uniting members while keeping the rich heritage of the Cordillera alive.
For a quarter of a century, the organization has been a beacon of cultural pride and community spirit. Through countless cultural showcases, festivals, and community service initiatives, Igorot Austria has built a legacy of resilience, togetherness, and cultural exchange. Its efforts have not only supported members but also shared the traditions and values of the Igorot people with the wider Austrian and international community.
This year’s Festival of Festivals carries extra significance as it honors the past, celebrates the present, and looks to the future. The program will highlight Igorot Austria’s journey, from humble beginnings to a strong and enduring organization. Guests will also witness the induction of new officers, with Jemi Schwarz stepping in as the incoming president to lead the association into its next chapter.
