October marks the start of the application period, which runs until December 31, 2025. The apprenticeship management team will first collect all applications centrally before distributing them throughout the city.
“The professions in the Vienna city administration are as diverse as our city itself – and apprenticeship training is an important cornerstone of this, because it is often the apprentices who work for the city the longest!” says City Councillor for Human Resources Jürgen Czernohorszky.
Wide range and award-winning
The city highlights the wide range of jobs available in its press release, which includes administrative assistance, information technology, construction engineering assistance, geoinformation technology, skilled horticulture, carpentry, electrical engineering, graphic design, and web design.
The city also emphasizes the quality of its training programs by pointing to the prizes won in apprentice competitions, such as the state championships in carpentry and auto body repair.
More places for apprentices are urgently needed, as there are only 800 open positions for around 5,300 apprenticeship seekers.
