On Saturday, a shallow warm front will move in from the west. This means that dense clouds and precipitation will prevail from Vorarlberg to Salzburg and the Waldviertel region already in the morning. The snow line will be between 1,300 and 1,600 meters above sea level, and below that, there is a risk of freezing rain and associated black ice formation. Further to the southeast and south, away from thick fog patches, sunshine will prevail until the afternoon. Then thick clouds will move in here as well. However, little to no rain is expected here. The wind will be light to moderate from the west. Early temperatures will range between minus ten and minus two degrees, and daytime highs will be between one and seven degrees, with the higher values in the far west.

On Sunday, clouds will dominate the west of the country early in the morning, with the sun making only rare appearances. In addition, light rain and snowfall will set in during the afternoon. The snow line will be around 1,000 to 1,300 meters above sea level. In the rest of the country, apart from local patches of fog in the far north and in the Danube region, it will be very sunny at first. Clouds will spread from the west and gradually replace the sunshine. Only in the east will it remain largely cloudless until the evening. The wind will be mostly light and variable. Early temperatures will range between minus eight and plus one degree, and daytime highs will reach one to eight degrees.

On Monday, the day will be slightly to moderately cloudy in Carinthia and parts of Styria. Elsewhere, the new week will begin with partly dense cloud cover, especially north of the main Alpine ridge. Light rain will fall along the northern side of the Alps and in Upper Austria, with snow above 800 to 1,000 meters above sea level. Elsewhere, it will remain predominantly dry. In the far west and far east, the clouds will break up in the afternoon, and the sun will come out, but in between, it will remain cloudy. The wind will be light, with moderate westerly winds blowing from different directions on the eastern edge of the Alps. Early temperatures will range from minus six to plus two degrees, with daytime highs of one to six degrees.
