Hürm, Lower Austria – The Philippine Association in Niederösterreich (PANÖ) brought the warmth of Filipino tradition to Austria as it staged its annual Christmas celebration in Hürm. The festive gathering highlighted cultural pride, community solidarity, and charitable commitment.
The event was graced by Philippine Embassy First Secretary Andrei Bauzon, who delivered an inspiring message to the community. PANÖ adviser Ing. Franz Eckert likewise shared words of encouragement, underscoring the importance of unity and support among members.

Cultural Highlights
- Traditional Filipino folk dances showcased the rich heritage of the Philippines.
- Modern dance performances added youthful energy to the program.
- A joyful gift-giving for children brought smiles and laughter, reminding everyone of the true spirit of Christmas.
Charity and Community Projects PANÖ expressed heartfelt gratitude to supporters who continue to help the association achieve its goals, particularly through its flagship charity project “Kalinga sa Bata.”
Association President Janet Heiss announced that PANÖ has lined up seven projects for 2025, including:
- Expanding Kalinga sa Bata to reach more children in need.
- Extending assistance to kababayans affected by devastating typhoons in the Philippines.
- Supporting families as they slowly rebuild their homes after the disasters.
Heiss emphasized:
“Thank you to all who heartily donated to PANÖ and to those who directly supported our members whose relatives and friends lost their houses. PANÖ is very grateful. God bless.”

A Celebration of Hope The Christmas event was more than a festive gathering—it was a testament to the enduring spirit of bayanihan (community solidarity). Through dance, fellowship, and charity, PANÖ continues to strengthen ties among Filipinos in Austria while extending compassion to those in need back home.
