Vienna will experience a noticeable change in weather conditions on Wednesday as a cold front moves in from the northwest. According to GeoSphere Austria, the day will begin on a bright note, with “mostly sunny conditions and only thin high clouds causing minimal disturbance.”
However, the pleasant start won’t last. From midday onward, clouds associated with the approaching cold front will gradually spread across the city, steadily diminishing the sunshine. While the afternoon is expected to remain largely dry, rain is forecast to set in during the evening hours as the front fully arrives.
Winds will initially blow at a light to moderate pace, but meteorologists warn that the westerly wind will strengthen significantly by the evening, adding to the sense of an incoming weather shift.
Temperatures will start off around 5 degrees Celsius in the early morning before climbing to approximately 20 degrees during the day—mild values that will contrast with the cooler, wetter conditions expected later on.
