Vienna, Austria — April 11, 2026. The Association of Pangasinenses in Austria (APA) celebrated a major milestone as it marked its 20th founding anniversary with a vibrant gathering in Vienna’s 22nd District. Members, supporters, and friends of the organization came together to honor two decades of community service, cultural pride, and solidarity among Pangasinenses and the wider Filipino community in Austria.
The event’s guest speaker was Mr. Delmer Cruz, Labor Attaché and head of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Vienna under the Philippine Embassy. In his keynote message, Mr. Cruz congratulated APA’s officers and members for sustaining the organization for twenty years—an achievement he described as a testament to unity and shared purpose.
He also provided an overview of the MWO’s ongoing programs in Austria and Croatia, highlighting initiatives that safeguard the welfare of Filipino migrant workers. These include assistance services, reintegration programs, and strengthened coordination with local authorities to ensure the protection of overseas Filipinos.

APA President Bong Arce expressed heartfelt gratitude to his fellow officers, members, and supporters. He emphasized that APA’s mission extends beyond serving its immediate community in Austria. “Our programs are not only for our benefit here,” he said, “but also for the welfare of our kababayans back home in the Philippines.” Arce acknowledged the dedication of volunteers and partners who have helped sustain APA’s cultural, social, and charitable initiatives over the years.
Adding color and energy to the celebration were a series of cultural presentations, showcasing the rich heritage of Pangasinan and the Philippines. Dances, musical numbers, and intermission performances brought a festive spirit to the anniversary program, reflecting the community’s pride in its roots.
As APA enters its third decade, the organization reaffirmed its commitment to fostering camaraderie among Pangasinenses in Austria while continuing its advocacy for migrant welfare and cultural preservation.
