More than two years after the pandemic, Italy takes further steps to ease Corona’s restrictions.
As of Sunday (May 1), the so-called green passport is no longer required in Italy. This means that the 2G and 3G obligations will no longer apply. Employees will no longer have to show a Green Pass to access the workplace. The 3G obligation will continue to use for access to hospitals and nursing homes.
Green passport: new presentation for booster vaccinations
A vaccination requirement remains for health care workers through the end of 2022. On June 15, a vaccination requirement for Italians over age 50 will also drop. Compulsory masking in Italy will fall from Sunday. Still, it will remain mandatory until June 15 on local and long-distance public transport, in cinemas and theaters, and at all indoor events and sports competitions. Masks must also continue to be worn in hospitals and nursing homes.
