By 2030, around 21,000 new employees will be needed in various areas. With this in mind, the city is launching a major personnel campaign to showcase the enormous range of professional fields and individual career paths. Prospective employees can choose from 250 occupational groups and a wide range of different and diverse areas of responsibility. With around 67,000 employees, the City of Vienna is one of the largest employers in the country. And those who work for Vienna actively shape their own living space.

With the new “Working for Vienna” campaign, the City of Vienna is now positioning itself as the modern and future-oriented employer that it is.

Mayor Michael Ludwig: “The job profiles in Vienna’s municipal administration are as diverse as our city—from working in nature to many social, technical and digital areas, we offer both classic and innovative fields of work with meaning.”

City Councillor for Human Resources Jürgen Czernohorszky: “What these tasks have in common is that they all contribute to the city’s high quality of life! Climate protection, clean water, waste collection, road and bridge construction or administration: the approximately 67,000 employees of the City of Vienna have a lot to do to make 2 million people feel good.”

“Working on Vienna”
At the centre of the campaign are the employees who contribute with their work. They help ensure that citizens feel safe and comfortable in their city.

A special focus is also placed on the City of Vienna’s contribution to sustainability and climate protection and the wide range of career opportunities.

The campaign is played out in print and TV media to reach as many people as possible, online, on the radio, and via social media. Cooperation with influencers, free cards, and outdoor advertising such as city lights, info screens, and trams round off the campaign.

Special editions of the city newspaper MEIN WIEN, a new podcast series and information about the WienBot are planned, as are our own recruiting videos.
