Vienna Pride Conference to be held in Vienna with the participation of the Filipino LGBT Europe

The Vienna Pride Conference, with lectures and discussions on LGBTIQ topics, will take place on June 7, 2024, at Vienna City Hall. The conference is organized in cooperation with the City of Vienna. The entire conference program can be attended free of charge and without registration.

The transdisciplinary conference, launched in 2019 by Vienna Pride and HOSI Vienna, aims to promote equality, improve the well-being of LGBTIQ people in all areas of life and develop joint effective strategies to fight against discrimination and hate-motivated violence.

The Vienna Pride conference brings together activists, experts and interested parties from various fields to discuss innovative approaches, promote the support and empowerment of LGBTIQ people in their different spheres of life and pave the way towards a more inclusive and equitable society. It offers the LGBTIQ community and its allies a platform for sharing knowledge, discussing solutions and driving change.

In 2024, the focus will be on human rights, health, business and the labor market, which will be highlighted in a varied program of lectures, discussions, workshops and a job fair.

In the lectures and discussions on “LGBTIQ & Human Rights,” “LGBTIQ & Health,” and “PRIDE Business,” activists and experts will share their insights and experiences. The workshops offer the opportunity for active participation and exchange with other participants. At the same time, the LGBTIQ Job Info Fair creates space for contacting potential employers and discovering new career opportunities.

The Vienna Pride Conference is an invitation to come together, share knowledge, think outside the box, and build and strengthen networks. Let’s shape a future together in which diversity and inclusion are a living reality!

Philippine Situationer Session

Discussion about the newly created Department of Migrant Workers and Special Committee on Filipino LGBTQIA+ Affairs and its meaning and effect on the Filipino Migrant community will take place on Friday, 7 June 2024 from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm at the Nordbuffet, Rathaus Wien. There will be a panel discussion with Usec. Py Caunan and Director Dindi Tan.

The Filipino LGBTQIA+ Forum 2024 is set to be a groundbreaking event that will bring together empowered and dedicated Filipinos actively involved in LGBTQIA+ advocacy work.

With participants from diverse backgrounds and expertise, the Forum aims to create a safe and collaborative platform for European Filipino individuals to connect, share experiences, and learn from one another. The Forum hopes to inspire and empower attendees to make positive societal changes by providing a space for dialogue and mutual support. Through networking opportunities and workshops, participants will have the chance to connect with other migrant communities who may have faced similar challenges and discrimination as migrants in Europe. This forum will facilitate engagement within the Filipino LGBTQIA+ community and help create a formal network of support that can provide assistance and solidarity to those in need. The Forum seeks to promote inclusivity, diversity, and acceptance within the community by fostering collaboration and unity.
