Filipino artist Mar Balcos will showcase his latest exhibition, “Art Aqua,” at the Art Gallery Vienna at Mahlerstrasse 11, 1010 Vienna, from May 5 to 31, 2025. The opening event, scheduled for May 5 at 5 PM, will feature special guests, including Ms. Fran Eve Wright, Acting President of UNESCO Club Vienna, and Ms. Anastasia Yatsko, Programme Director of Earth Charter Austria. Their presence highlights the exhibit’s strong ties to global sustainability and mental health advocacy.
“Art Aqua” celebrates Palawan culture and its natural beauty while promoting environmental awareness and the healing potential of art. Balcos uses his work to emphasize art therapy as a powerful tool for addressing emotional struggles such as anxiety and hopelessness, particularly among young people. The exhibit serves as a prelude to the Earth Charter’s 25th anniversary in July, and Balcos may be seen representing the UNESCO Club Vienna at that international event.
Combining creative expression with global advocacy, “Art Aqua” invites viewers to reflect on humanity’s relationship with nature and the transformative role of art in fostering resilience and ecological responsibility. This must-see exhibition offers a moving and meaningful experience for art lovers, environmentalists, and mental health advocates alike.
