Vienna, Austria – May 12, 2025 – The overseas voting process at the Philippine Embassy in Vienna concluded smoothly as the Special Board of Canvassers (SBOC) officially closed the polls at 1:00 PM today, May 12, 2025. Despite a slight delay in the arrival of necessary election paraphernalia—including SIM cards and USB routers—the digital voting and counting proceeded efficiently, yielding results within hours.
Consul General Zoilo Velasco, chairman of the SBOC, convened the board at 9:00 AM to oversee the proceedings. Poll watchers from various Filipino political parties were present to observe the process, ensuring transparency. Due to the fully digital nature of the elections, the counting of votes was completed swiftly.
Voter Turnout and Results
According to the Certificate of Canvass signed by the SBOC, only 489 out of 2,520 registered voters from four precincts—Austria, Croatia, Slovenia, and Slovakia—participated, resulting in a 19.40% voter turnout.
The final rankings of senatorial candidates based on votes received were as follows:
- Bong Go – 268 votes
- Bato dela Rosa – 255 votes
- Rodante Marcoleta – 241 votes
- Bam Aquino – 205 votes

Gratitude from the Board
In a statement, Consul General Velasco and the SBOC expressed their appreciation for the cooperation and support of the Filipino community in their jurisdiction throughout the election period.
The Vienna results were transmitted directly to the Commission on Elections (COMELEC) in Manila for consolidation with overseas and local votes.
