Car repair shops already were and are becoming even more expensive. Anyone who needs a §57a inspection for their vehicle already pays up to 151 euros.
Repairs, service, and vehicle inspection stickers are becoming increasingly expensive. Drivers now have to pay an average of around 92 euros for the sticker check, with significant differences between brands and repair shops.
Depending on the brand, type, damage, and repair shop, the average hourly rate for repairs is almost 191 euros for gasoline or diesel cars and around 215 euros for electric vehicles. This is shown by a recent Chamber of Labor random price monitor for 16 car brands at 32 Viennese car repair shops and motorist clubs.

The vehicle inspection sticker is generally checked annually, except for brand-new cars. The sticker costs an average of around € 92 for gasoline cars and around € 93 for diesel cars, depending on the repair shop and car brand.
The AK testers found the most expensive price to be around 151 euros. The cheapest inspection sticker is available to members of the ÖAMTC auto club for 57.60 euros (ARBÖ: 69.90 euros).
Some workshops offer sticker inspections for around 70 euros. The prices for the sticker have risen by an average of 4.7 percent for gasoline cars and 4.6 percent for diesel cars compared to the same period last year.
For electric cars, the sticker check, including the sticker, costs between € 57.60 and € 151.20, depending on the repair shop – that is an increase of four percent compared to 2024.
