According to the experts of the Austrian Severe Weather Center (UWZ) and the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG), one can look forward to gradually rising temperatures and abundant sunshine in the next few days.
According to ZAMG, temperatures in the coming week should “gradually correspond to the season again.”
25 degrees at the start of summer
Tomorrow, Tuesday, some spring clouds will form during while sunshine will predominate towards the south and especially in the west. In the east and south, a few rain showers cannot be completely ruled out, but mostly it will remain dry. The wind will blow moderately to briskly from northerly directions. Early temperatures will range from five to eleven degrees, daily highs from 16 to 25 degrees, with the higher values in the west.
On Wednesday, the first half of the day will be dry and quite sunny. Afterwards, some spring clouds will form, followed by a few rain showers and isolated thunderstorms, especially over the mountains. The wind will be weak to moderate from the northeast to the south. In the morning, it will remain cool at three to eleven degrees Celsius, in the afternoon 18 to 25 degrees Celsius will be reached.
On Thursday, it will be changeable all day in the west with some showers and local thunderstorms. In the rest of Austria, the sun will shine at least occasionally. During the second half of the day, cluster clouds will develop there, followed by a few rain showers and thunderstorms. It is most likely to remain dry in the eastern half of the country away from the mountains. The wind will blow weakly to moderately mostly from the east to southwest. Early temperatures between five and 13 degrees, afternoon temperatures between 19 and 25 degrees.
Up to 28 degrees at the weekend
In the western half of the country, clouds and sunny spells will alternate on Friday, with some rain showers and thunderstorms to be expected. Further east, the first half of the day will be quite sunny. Afterwards, spring clouds will develop and a few rain showers and thunderstorms, especially over the mountainous and hilly areas. Winds will be light to moderate from the east to southwest. The lowest temperatures will be six to 14 degrees, the daily highs 20 to 26 degrees. According to UWZ, 27 degrees are also possible in some parts of the country.
