About the Editor/Publisher:
Mag. Hector Pascua is a Filipino-Austrian journalist, educator, and community leader originally from Laoag City, Philippines. He pursued higher education at the Hochschule St. Gabriel in Mödling, Lower Austria, the Catholic University of Vienna, and the Urbaniana University in Rome, ultimately earning both the Magister der Philosophy and Magister der Theology degrees in 1994. Pascua enhanced his skill set with further studies in journalism at the London School of Arts and Sciences, equipping him with the foundations for his extensive media and community work.
Since 1994, Pascua has served under the Diocese of Vienna in Austria. He has taught religion and ethics in public schools located in Vienna’s 21st District and continues to be active in pastoral ministry, primarily in the parishes of Leopoldau and Herz Jesu (Töllergasse). In his current parish responsibilities, he oversees religious preparation for children receiving their First Communion and Confirmation.
In addition to his pastoral and educational activities, Pascua is a prominent figure in parish communications, serving as the editor of a monthly parish newspaper. His contributions extend well beyond the church, as he is also a dedicated media correspondent and has covered significant Filipino events in Austria for Philippine television, social media, and online platforms. His journalistic expertise proves especially valuable in the Filipino community, where he provides service, advocacy, and coverage for Filipinos abroad.
Pascua is married and has two adult children. His daughter, Gabriele Pascua, has become a doctor, and his son Steven has built a career as a diplom personal trainer. Despite his multifaceted engagements, Hector Pascua remains deeply connected to both the Austrian and Filipino communities, working tirelessly to foster cultural understanding, faith, and community spirit.
