COVID 19 UPDATE – Highest number since April: 347 new corona infections

The highest number of infections in Austria had been registered  in mid-April 2020: Today,  20 August 2020, 347 new infections were counted in the last 24 hours.
So far, there have been 24,431 positive test results in Austria. As of today (20 August 2020, 09:30 a.m.), 729 people throughout Austria have died as a result of the corona virus and 21,093 have recovered.

Currently 116 persons are undergoing corona-related hospital treatment – 21 of them in intensive care units.

New infections by federal provinces:

Burgenland: 5
Carinthia: 6
Lower Austria: 21
Upper Austria: 67
Salzburg: 20
Styria: 11
Tyrol: 20
Vorarlberg: 10
Vienna: 187
