Seven months after the outbreak of the corona wave in Austria, infection levels reach a new, sad peak. The 1,000 infections has been broken again. Within 24 hours, 1,058 people in Austria tested positive for corona viruses. This value was only beaten once since the beginning of the pandemic: on March 26 (1,065 infections).
Health Minister Rudolf Anschober (Greens) speaks of a “worryingly high number”. The Ministry of Health calculates an alarming increase in new infections of 2.3 percent compared to the previous day.
Vienna worst. The next negative record: In this period there were 474 new cases in Vienna, more than ever before, according to the medical crisis team of the federal capital. Within 24 hours, two women died of the consequences in Vienna.
