The five best known Austrians are all athletes. This comes out from an inquiry of the industry magazine “Extradienst” under 23 Top Society journalists. David Alaba leads the popularity rating ahead of his soccer colleague Marko Arnautovic, ex-skier Marcel Hirscher, former Formula 1 pilot Gerhard Berger and Thomas Muster (tennis). In the four mixed rankings Alaba is number 1 in three of them.
For the Bayern-Kicker also won the “overall ranking” (society factor) superior to opera singer Anna Netrebko and Hirscher. According to the survey, the national player from Vienna has also the highest Austro advertising value, ahead of Hirscher and tennis ace Dominic Thiem. Only in the “Glamour” rating, led by Netrebko ahead of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Alaba has to settle for 5th place as the best sportsman.
