The Commission calls on citizens to continue to behave responsibly.
According to the EU Commission, there is no quick solution in sight for the corona crisis through vaccination. “It will still take months before a vaccine is found and distributed,” said Commission Vice-President Maros Sefcovic on Wednesday in the European Parliament in Brussels. Nobody knows today when the pandemic will finally be over.
He appealed to citizens to help contain the pandemic by their behaviour. “Nobody in Europe wants a second lockdown,” said Sefcovic. “Therefore I call on all European citizens to behave responsibly.”
Among other things, the EU Commission is busy concluding preliminary agreements for all EU countries on possible future vaccines. In addition to the three already publicly known contracts, three more are in the final phase, said Sefcovic.
