For the first time since the beginning of the pandemic, the number of new coronavirus infections in Germany has risen to more than 10,000 registered cases within one day.
As the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced this morning, 11,287 new cases of infection were recorded the day before. The number of deaths reported in connection with the virus rose by 30 to 9,905.
The previous record was 7,830 infections within one day and was reported by the health authorities on Friday.
