The number of registered new coronavirus infections in Germany exceeded 11,000 for the second day in a row. As the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) announced this morning, citing information from the health authorities, 11,242 new cases of infection were recorded the previous day. That was 45 fewer than on Wednesday, when the previous record of new infections with the virus in Germany was set.
According to the RKI, the total number of infection cases recorded in Germany since the beginning of the pandemic had risen to 403,291 by yesterday, and the number of deaths associated with the new virus rose to 9,954 – 49 more than the previous day.
