The number of active coronavirus cases in Austria (as of 14:00 today) is 32,052, according to the AGES dashboard, which recently replaced the dashboard of the Ministry of Health. This was accompanied by a leap in the number of people currently infected, as convalescents are registered more slowly in the new system.

More than two million tests
In addition, new cases are no longer assigned to the registration date, but to the date of laboratory diagnosis, which may have taken place days before. This makes the curve of the epidemic course more accurate, but changes the number of newly reported infections, which was previously often used as a characteristic value, but is still communicated in the morning by the Ministry of the Interior and the Ministry of Health. Today (9.30 a.m.), that was 2,456.

More significant, however, is the number of positively diagnosed cases over the past seven days per 100,000 inhabitants (7-day incidence), which rose to 203.1.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been a total of 85,048 laboratory-confirmed cases nationwide. 1,330 people are in hospital, 188 in intensive care. A total of 2,111,575 tests have been performed.
