Vienna has devised a Christmas Corona testing strategy. Residents of the federal capital can be tested free of charge before and on Christmas. To this end, all three existing test lanes – at Happel Stadium, at the Austria Center and on the Danube Island – will continue to operate and will continue to do so over the holidays.
At the Austria Center, where the focus was most recently on critical infrastructure employees, everyone can now be tested – even more than once, as the office of Health City Councilor Peter Hacker (SPÖ) emphasized to the APA. Starting Friday, registration online (www.acv.at/schnelltest) or by phone via 1450 is mandatory. Open is the ACV test station also on holidays from 7.00 to 19.00 clock.
The focus at the stadium is on contacts, travelers (including those from the states) and health care trainees. Arrival is possible from 6.00 to 21.00.
The test road on the Danube Island is intended for people who are symptomatic and who come by car. The testers’ home visits by appointment at 1450 and the “checkbox” containers will also continue. In addition, “cold boxes” will also be available through Christmas 20. Registration can be done by calling the health hotline or online.
Hacker recommended taking advantage of the testing opportunities as well: “I think it’s a good additional offer to provide more safety in your own home.”
