More than 3,000 Austrians already received second dose of vaccination.
In Austria, at least 3,244 people have been vaccinated with a second dose against Covid-19 up to and including Wednesday. This is according to figures from the electronic vaccination record available to APA.
So many Viennese are already vaccinated
In total, 106,195 vaccinations are listed there. That corresponds to about 70 percent of the vaccinated persons according to the data of the federal states. The Ministry of Social Affairs has not yet published these figures. The ministry informs on its homepage only about the delivered vaccination doses.
Ministry informs only about delivered vaccine doses
According to the Ministry of Social Affairs, 150,703 vaccine doses had been delivered by January 19. The ministry assumes that this corresponds to the number of vaccinations carried out up to and including January 20. However, it is not known how many people were actually vaccinated (and how many of them have already received a second dose). The relevant feedback from the provinces and the entries in the electronic vaccination record are not yet published.
In any case, as of Wednesday evening, 106,195 vaccinations had been entered in the electronic vaccination record (or “vaccination register”), 3,244 of which involved a second dose. Admittedly, these figures still show considerable gaps in some federal states, because vaccinations that have already been carried out often have to be entered subsequently in the vaccination register. However, if the figures reported by the states themselves to the crisis team in the Ministry of the Interior are added, the total number of vaccinated persons is around 152,000. This would even be slightly more than the 150,703 vaccinations estimated by the Ministry of Social Affairs on the basis of vaccine deliveries.
Larger gaps in E-vaccination coverage
According to the figures, there are larger gaps in the E-vaccination passport in Lower Austria, Styria and Tyrol. However, the figures published by the Ministry of Social Affairs on the number of vaccine doses delivered are likely to provide only an incomplete picture of actual vaccination activities. Because in Styria and in Vorarlberg were accomplished according to data of the countries of Thursday morning in each case over 2,000 inoculations more, than in view of the vaccine supplies reported by the Ministry of Social Affairs would have been at all possible. For example, the Ministry of Social Affairs estimates that 9,895 vaccinations were carried out in Vorarlberg, given the doses delivered, but in fact there were 12,148 vaccinations (including 86 “second vaccinations”), according to the provincial report.
