In the federal capital of Vienna, Corona vaccination of seniors over 80 years of age, the high-risk group, persons with disabilities and employees or workers in high-exposure areas (for example, Covid-19 laboratories) will begin today (Wednesday), the office of Health City Councilor Peter Hacker (SPÖ) told APA. The injections are thereby mainly placed in two new Corona vaccination centers, which go into operation today. These are located at Gasgasse 7 -9 in Rudolfsheim-Fünfhaus and at Schrödingerplatz in Donaustadt. In the coming weeks – depending on the quantities of vaccine delivered – further such vaccination centers are to be put into operation.
Vaccinations in retirement and nursing homes, hospitals, private practices and emergency services will continue as usual. The goal is for nursing homes to be ready with all two partial vaccinations by the end of March.
According to the current status (Thursday evening), 504,078 people have registered for Corona vaccination on the pre-registration platform. So far, 94,638 vaccinations have been carried out in Vienna, of which 35,302 people have also already received the two-stroke, as it takes two doses of the active ingredient for complete protection.
