The Corona numbers in Austria remain at a high level! Although the number of new infections on Monday (March 8) was below 2,000, but yesterday (Tuesday) was again a significant increase with 2,411 cases. And the trend of high numbers continues on Wednesday.
The Dashboard of the Health Ministry shows that in the last 24 hours a total of 2,528 new infections and 19 deaths were recorded throughout Austria. Also, the number of Corona patients in hospitals has increased by 17, but the number of patients in intensive care units has decreased (-23).
New infections in the provinces:
Burgenland: 113
Carinthia: 179
Lower Austria: 547
Upper Austria: 462
Salzburg: 230
Styria: 285
Tyrol: 111
Vorarlberg: 55
Vienna: 546
To date, there have been 481,919 positive test results in Austria. As of today (9:30 a.m.), 8,776 people across Austria have died as a result of Corona virus and 449,053 have recovered. Currently, 1,605 people are undergoing hospital treatment due to the Corona virus. Of these, 315 are being cared for in intensive care units.
The Ministry of Health’s dashboard is operated by the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES) and can be accessed at “covid19-dashboard.ages.at.” The dashboard obtains its data exclusively from the Epidemiological Reporting Register (EMS) and is updated daily. The EMS is the official register in which data is entered by the district authorities as well as by laboratories.
