Also on Thursday, the number of new infections increased again during the week. From Wednesday to Thursday, there are 2,997 new infections in Austria. Compared to Thursday of the previous week, there are 673 more infections. Thus, the 7-day incidence also increases significantly. The last time there was a similarly high value in Austria was December 9, 2020, with 2,932 new infections within 24 hours. In addition, there are 22 new deaths associated with Covid 19 infection.
In hospitals, there are 23 fewer patients in normal wards, but 14 new patients in intensive care units.
