Infection numbers remain stable. 28 more deaths reported from yesterday to today.
The seven-day incidence rate is falling: on Friday, it was below 200 for the first time in weeks, and yesterday it dropped again significantly to 186.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
The number of intensive care patients, meanwhile, has declined only slightly – the situation remains tense, especially in hospitals in the east of the country. Nevertheless, Burgenland’s governor Hans-Peter Doskozil has decided to end the hard lockdown and take opening steps – much to the displeasure of his party leader Pamela Rendi-Wagner and Vienna’s mayor Michael Ludwig.
New infections fall just as slightly, with 2,048 new reported cases yesterday, below the seven-day average of 2,370 daily new infections.
From Saturday to Sunday, 2,076 new infections and 28 new deaths related to Covid-19 were recorded.
To date, there have been 593,423 positive test results in Austria. As of today, 9,898 people across Austria have died as a result of the Corona virus and 555,218 have recovered.
Currently, 2,076 people are in hospital care due to the Corona virus. Of these, 546 are being cared for in intensive care units.
