The situation in Austria is stable so far: with 2,048 and 2,076 new infections over the weekend, respectively, the newly reported cases were below the seven-day average of about 2,370 daily new infections. The seven-day incidence fell below 200 for the first time on Friday of the previous week and was 184.4 cases on Sunday. The situation in intensive care units is calming down slightly – albeit at a high level, especially in the east. Meanwhile, almost every fifth Austrian has received at least a partial vaccination.
From yesterday to today, 2,117 new infections and 24 additional deaths related to Covid-19 were reported in Austria.
65 more people ended up in hospital across Austria, and 24 new patients were admitted to intensive care units, with a focus on Vienna. 21 additional patients now require intensive care in the federal capital.
To date, there have been 595,540 positive test results in Austria. As of today, 9,922 people across Austria have died as a result of Corona virus and 557,467 have recovered. Currently, 2,100 people are undergoing hospital treatment due to the corona virus. Of these, 570 are being cared for in intensive care units.
