Starting today, Monday, students in Vienna and Lower Austria will also return to classes. Full operations are then scheduled to resume on May 17.
It is not yet clear whether Vienna will extend the lockdown again. But one thing is certain: schools in the capital will reopen on Monday.
Starting with the fifth grade, classes will be divided. One group will be in school on Monday and Tuesday and in distance learning for three days. The other group has face-to-face classes on Wednesday and Thursday.
Elementary and special education students are in class all five days. Full attendance is also available for classes with fewer than 18 students, as well as high school and other graduating classes.
One-day school events and school-related events can resume. Multi-day ones, such as school field weeks, are off-limits.
Exercise and sports are to take place outdoors whenever possible. Contact sports remain prohibited.
High school students can be “supervised” at school – if they take self-tests at school.
Then, in three weeks, all schools are to return to full attendance across the board.
Still in effect: mouth-nose protection in the lower school, FFP2 mask in the upper school.
Students are to be tested on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
