Vaccinated people are exempt from access tests – but permanently only with second vaccination.

Vienna. The Austrian Parliament decided on Wednesday the legal basis for the Green Passport – as reported, it should serve as an “access key” for gastronomy, hotel industry and sports and culture.
Second vaccination. What has not yet been decided, but in a decree by Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein will be submitted later: Vaccinated people will be permanently exemptrd from access tests only if they have received the second vaccination dose.

Depending on the vaccine
Specifically, according to the Ministry of Health, in the case of mRNA vaccination (Biontech and Moderna), the second shot must be given four to six weeks after the initial vaccination, while for AstraZeneca it must be given around 12 weeks, or three months. However, the exact timelines are still being worked out. Only the Johnson & Johnson vaccine requires only one vaccination.
On the other hand, Austria is comparatively relaxed about the exemption. In other countries, travel and test exemption only applies from the 2nd vaccination. In Austria, one is exempt from testing from the 22nd day after the first vaccination.
