Celebration. It has been a difficult year for most Austrians. Especially mothers had to endure special burdens in the last months. Home office, distance learning or spending a quarantine with the children at home. In addition to everyday tasks, some obstacles were added. But Austrian mothers are not discouraged by these.
Special thanks. They deserve a very special gratitude for what they do every day. More than three million women in Austria are celebrating this Mother’s Day. According to a survey by the trade association, 70 percent of Austrians give their mothers presents. Austrias spend 210 million euros on gifts – for their respective mothers.
Flowers. When it comes to gifts, the undisputed number 1 continues to be flowers or other plants (33.1%). This is followed by chocolate and other sweets (12.8%), according to price comparison platform idealo.at. Going to a restaurant as in the years before Corona is currently not possible. Cooking for oneself or takeaway are the trend this year.
