After Lower Austria, Vienna also offers to validate self-tests online via photo. One has to take a photo of the nose-pick test taken and send it in. The web app will be launched Wednesday night.
Vienna creates the possibility to validate Corona self-tests online – i.e. to have them checked and confirmed. This means that the so-called “Nasenbohrertest” will then be valid for 24 hours and can be used, for example, to visit restaurants. The launch of the homepage will take placeon Wednesday night, a spokesman for Health City Council Peter Hacker (SPÖ) announced via Twitter.
Test must be photographed
The self-test tool will be available via coronavirus.wien.gv.at. Self-conducted tests can be registered at the website. An activated camera function is necessary for this. This is because the QR code must also be shown, which is obtained when registering for the Vienna test offers. Anyone who has already been to test streets will already have one. You also have to enter the PIN code that you have already received. Anyone who has not yet used the city’s offer must register again.
The web application then generates a code. Users must then write this code on the test kit. Once the test is complete, it must be photographed and the image should be uploaded.
Self-test valid for longer
As a result, one receives a QR code that can be scanned in the restaurant. A pdf document can also be generated. In any case, the result is valid longer than a self-test performed on the spot, which is only valid for the respective restaurant visit. Longer periods can be covered by rapid tests in test streets (48 hours) or PCR tests (72 hours). The latter are offered, for example, by the “Alles gurgelt” initiative in Vienna.
