The Robert Koch Institute reports 2682 new corona infections in Germany. The seven-day incidence drops to 62.5. 43 additional deaths were also registered.
Health offices in Germany have reported 2682 new Corona infections to the Robert Koch Institute (RKI) within one day. This is according to figures from Monday morning, which reflect the status of the RKI dashboard as of 05:13. By comparison, a week ago the figure had been 5412 infections.
The RKI gave the 7-day incidence on Monday morning with nationwide 62.5 (previous day: 64.5; previous week: 83.1). On Sundays and holidays, the case numbers reported by the RKI are usually lower, partly because less testing is done then.
The RKI counted a total of 3,651,640 confirmed infections with Sars-CoV-2 since the start of the pandemic, but the actual total is likely to be much higher because many infections go undetected.
The RKI gave the number of those who recovered as about 3,408,800. The number of people who died from or with the involvement of a confirmed infection with Sars-CoV-2 is now given as 87,423.
The nationwide seven-day R value was 0.87 (previous day also: 0.87), according to the RKI situation report released Sunday evening. This means that 100 infected people mathematically infect 87 more people.
