Due to construction work for the Stadtstraße, the U2 will only run between Schottentor and Aspernstraße for two months starting July 1. Between Aspernstraße and Seestadt, a replacement service will be provided.
Starting in July, the U2 will have to be partially interrupted due to construction work for Stadtstraße in the area of the U2 station Hausfeldstraße, as this cannot be carried out during ongoing subway operations.
U2 partially closed due to construction work in the summer
From July 1, 10:00 p.m. to September 4, the U2 will only run between Schottentor and Aspernstraße stations. During this time, a replacement service will be provided between Aspernstraße and Seestadt.
The replacement bus line U2E will run daily between Aspernstraße, Hausfeldstraße and Aspern Nord. The U2E line will be extended for the night subway and run to Seestadt station on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays. In addition, bus line 84 will be reinforced with articulated buses. It will run between Aspernstraße via Seestadt to Aspern Nord.
From Aspern Nord, the S80 also offers the option of using the S-Bahn. It runs via the stations Stadlau, Simmering, Hauptbahnhof, Meidling to Hütteldorf.
