The positive development of the infection incidence will again be reflected in the CoV traffic light this week. For the first time in many months, no province is in the red zone, which starts at 100 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants.
Vorarlberg has now also fallen well below this mark with an incidence of just over 75, according to the working paper of the responsible commission.
Last week, Lower Austria and Burgenland landed finally already in the yellow zone, which represents medium risk and in which the incidence should be under 50.
This week, all provinces except Vorarlberg, Tyrol and Upper Austria would already meet this criterion, both in absolute numbers and in the risk-adjusted incidence, which also takes into account factors such as the age of the patients. In the latter case, Upper Austria would also belong to the yellow group.
Meanwhile, the situation in intensive care units is also more relaxed. All countries are far from the critical 33 percent occupancy rate. Lower Austria has the highest value with 14.6 percent. A clarified source of infection exists in a good two-thirds (67 percent) of cases. Exactly one third are asymptomatic.
