From Monday to Tuesday, there were 337 new Corona infections in Austria. Compared to the previous week (398), there are 61 cases less. Thus, the 7-day incidence also decreases slightly.

For the first time since September 11 of last year, there are fewer than 5,000 active coronavirus infections in Austria. There were 4,824 active cases, according to Health and Interior Ministry figures (as of 9:30 a.m. Tuesday), down from 4,820 on Sept. 11. By comparison, there were more than 77,000 active cases in Austria at the peak of the second wave in mid-November 2020, and more than 37,000 active cases at the peak of the third wave in early April.

In the past 24 hours, 337 Corona infections were added across Austria, fewer than the seven-day average of 431. Above the seven-day average of 9.1, however, was the number of fatalities: since Monday, 12 people across Austria have died from or with Covid-19. A total of 64 additional victims related to Covid-19 disease were added last week, and 10,615 Corona deaths have been recorded nationwide so far. Per 100,000 population, 119.3 people have thus died from or with Covid-19 since the pandemic began. 857 people recovered from infection ultimately resulted in 532 fewer actively infected people than on Monday. Since the pandemic began, 629,713 people have recovered from infection with the coronavirus.
