From Thursday to Friday, there were 333 new Corona infections in Austria. Compared with the previous week (541), this is a significant decrease of 208 cases. The seven-day incidence dropped below 30 and was 27.6 cases per 100,000 population on Friday. Declines continued in the number of Covid 19 patients seen in hospitals. For the first time since August, Burgenland also reported no new infections.
There are also four new deaths related to Covid-19 infection.
Meanwhile, more than half a million vaccinations were administered for the first time last week. Since Friday, exactly 527,243 stings have been added. On Thursday, 52,163 immunizations were administered across Austria. In total, 3,786,633 people have already received at least a partial vaccination, according to E-vaccination passport data: That’s 42.5 percent of the population. 1,684,716, or 18.9 percent of Austria’s population, have already been fully immunized.
