Monday, 7 June 2021 – From yesterday to today, 279 new infections were reported in Austria – the third lowest figure since September. One additional death was registered within 24 hours.
Compared to last Monday, exactly 50 more new infections were reported across Austria, bringing the seven-day incidence per 100,000 population back up slightly above a level of 25. Nevertheless, this is the third best value after the Monday of the previous week, where 229 positive tests were registered, and last Saturday with 271 new cases. The last time there were lower numbers of cases was on September 6 of last year, when there were 184.
Meanwhile, 1,794,334 people were registered as fully immunized in the electronic immunization record. This means that about 20 percent of all residents have received the required vaccine doses, and 43.8 percent have been vaccinated at least once.
There were 416 Corona patients in the hospital as of Monday morning, four fewer than had been reported on Sunday. Intensive care beds, however, were six more occupied among them than the previous day, with 146 people being cared for in intensive care units. However, that’s eight fewer than exactly a week ago.
