The May update for Windows 10 is now widely available via the auto-update function.

The major Windows 10 May update, known as 21H1, is now showing up to users of the operating system via the auto-update feature, Windows Latest reports. Previously, the update, which began rolling out May 18, could only be downloaded manually.

A prerequisite for the installation is that the version 2004 from last May and 20H2 from last October are also on the computer.

It can be found under Windows Update. If you click on the Check for updates button there, it should be displayed. If this is not the case, it could be that the device is not yet released. In this case, it is recommended to repeat the query in a few days, or to download it manually as an ISO file via the Microsoft site.

What’s new
The update mainly brings minor improvements. Among other things, a bug that destroyed audio files has been fixed. In addition, Windows Defender has been optimized. New widgets for the taskbar are also available.

“Sun Valley” in the starting blocks
Microsoft is already focusing on the next update, which is codenamed “Sun Valley” and is supposed to bring the biggest changes since the launch of Windows 10 in 2015. It will be presented on June 24.
