How tolerant is Austria’s church? This question arises in view of a controversial poster action of the Styrian Protestants. Kronen Zeitung published on Thursday about a huge fabric posters on the Heilandskirche in Graz, which is currently being renovated,. The two big poster show a kissing pastor and a pregnant pastor.
Kissing pastor and pregnant pastor
The posters supposed to symbolize “love”: among others, a Protestant pastor candidate kissing his wife and a pregnant pastor. This is admittedly permitted among Protestants – Catholics, however, showed irritation after the official unveiling of the posters.
But the initiators can live with this – quite the opposite: with this high-profile campaign, they want to raise funds for the renovation of the Heilandskirche, which will cost 150,000 euros.
