More than half of all adults in the EU have been fully vaccinated against the coronavirus. EU Commission President Von der Leyen once again called for people to be vaccinated.

More than half of all adults in the EU have now been fully vaccinated against Covid-19. This was announced by EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in Brussels on Tuesday. At the same time, the politician once again encouraged all vaccination skeptics to get immunized. To be safe from virus variants and avoid a new wave of infection, it is important to get vaccinated, she wrote on the short message service Twitter.

70% of adults could be fully vaccinated by the end of July
Over the weekend, von der Leyen had already announced that enough vaccine had been delivered in the EU to fully vaccinate at least 70 percent of the adult population by the end of July. This target had been issued in April. According to the EU Commission, around 366 million people over the age of 18 live in the EU.
