Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens) has issued an ordinance on the collection of fines with organ penalty orders under the Covid 19 Measures Act, which will come into force at 0:00 on Wednesday. The background is that under the Epidemic Act, no transgressions can be punished. In the future administrative violations after entering Austria would be punished with this ordinance, it was said on Tuesday evening from the Ministry of Health.
At the same time, the ordinance on the collection of fines with organ punishment order under the Epidemic Act 1950 and the Covid-19 Measures Act, Federal Law Gazette II No. 152/2020, will be repealed.
According to the new ordinance, 90 euros will be payable in the future for the “absence of a mechanical protective device covering the mouth and nose area and fitting tightly,” the “absence of a respiratory protection mask of protection class FFP2 (FFP2 mask) without an exhalation valve or a mask of at least an equivalent standard,” and for the “failure to keep available evidence of a low epidemiological risk.”
