Overall, as of Sunday, there were 3433 active cases in Austria, 171 more than on Saturday. Since the outbreak of the epidemic, 639,573 people have recovered; within the past 24 hours, 151 were considered healthy again. One death has occurred since the previous day, with a seven-day average of 0.9 per day. Six deaths have been recorded in the past seven days. Overall, the Covid 19 pandemic has claimed 10,729 lives in Austria since the outbreak.

107 people hospitalized
There were 107 people hospitalized on Sunday, seven fewer than on Saturday. 32 people were cared for in intensive care units. This number dropped by four since the previous day and is down by seven patients in a week.

A total of 437,522 PCR and rapid antigen tests were reported in the past 24 hours. Of these, 43,229 were meaningful PCR tests. The positive rate of PCR tests was 0.7 percent. This 24-hour figure is above last week’s average (an average of 0.6 percent of PCR tests positive).

The province with the highest seven-day incidence is currently Vienna with 36.5, followed by Salzburg, Carinthia and Tyrol (26, 23 and 22, respectively). Styria (18.4), Upper Austria (17.7), Vorarlberg (17.3), Lower Austria (14.3) and Burgenland (3.7) follow. New infections by province: Burgenland: one, Carinthia: eleven, Lower Austria: 46, Upper Austria: 70, Salzburg: 52, Styria: 53, Tyrol: 39, Vorarlberg: 19 and Vienna: 120.
