Starting today, a vaccination campaign specifically aimed at teachers and students aged 12 years and older will start in Vienna. They can be vaccinated without registration at the Austria Center Vienna.
Vaccination coverage in Vienna
In order to ensure the safest possible start to school or smooth attendance classes, the highest possible COVID-19 vaccination coverage rate is necessary. Therefore, the appeal is directed to all teachers of Viennese schools who have not yet been vaccinated and, of course, to all students who are over 12 years old. The vaccine, as long as the persons are over 18 years old, can be chosen freely.
Biontech/Pfizer or Moderna for under 18s
Biontech/Pfizer or Moderna will be administered to those under 18 years of age. In addition, the vaccination week will be extended with freely selectable vaccines at the Austria Center Vienna. In both cases, registration is not necessary, a photo ID must be shown and an e-card if available.
Teachers and students can also visit the other vaccination centers of the City of Vienna, here also applies: registration is not necessary. However, only one vaccine is used in each of these seven vaccination centers.
Pupils under 14 with guardians
In the vaccination centers Wassermanngasse, Schrödingerplatz, Town Town, Schöpfwerk and Gasgasse, the vaccine from Biontech/Pfizer is used. In the vaccination centers Martinstraße and Karmelitergasse the vaccine Moderna is used. By the way, the campaign for teachers and students runs until the start of school. Students who are not yet 14 years old must be accompanied by a parent or guardian for the vaccination.
