New infection figures in Austria continue to rise. From Monday to Tuesday, there were 601 new Corona infections in Austria. This is well above the seven-day average; last week there were 553 new infections daily. Compared to the previous week (390 cases), new infections increased by 311 cases. The 7-day incidence increased to 43.49.
In addition, there is one new death related to Covid 19 infection, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 10,751 so far. The number of active cases rises to 6,445 with 148 new cases recovered.
In the past 24 hours, 68,271 new PCR tests were performed, bringing the positive rate to 0.88 percent.
There are currently 176 patients in Austrian hospitals, 14 more than the previous day. In intensive care units, there are 40 patients currently, two more than the previous day.
