A late summer weekend with highs up to 27 degrees Celsius will be followed by an unsettled work week. According to the forecast of the Central Institute for Meteorology and Geodynamics (ZAMG) on Thursday, the first spring clouds will already appear in the west on Sunday afternoon as a harbinger for a start of the week that will be somewhat cooler and have more precipitation than the days before.
Although denser clouds of a weakened disturbance will arrive on Friday with a taut northwesterly flow, especially north of the Danube. Here, however, only a few isolated raindrops may be present, otherwise it will remain dry and in the afternoon these clouds will also clear again. In the south and west, after the dissolution of local fog, the sun will shine unclouded in many areas. The wind from west-northwest will be moderate in some regions, at the eastern edge of the Alps, especially during the first half of the day, partly brisk to strong. Early temperatures will range between four and 16 degrees, depending on the wind, with highs of 18 to 25 degrees.
Sunshine
Patches of early morning fog will clear after a few hours on Saturday. Then, under the strong influence of high pressure, the sun will shine almost unclouded, the sky will be mostly cloudless. Weak winds, during the day the wind will increasingly shift to southerly directions. On the northern flanks of the mountains, light foehn effects will be noticeable. Four to 13 degrees in the morning, then temperatures will rise to 21 to 27 degrees.
Sunday may also start with local, but quickly dissipating fog or high fog patches, before the sunshine prevails for the time being. In the afternoon, however, a few spring clouds will form, followed by isolated rain showers in the west. Locally thundery showers are most likely in the southwest. The wind will be light to moderate from east to southwest with occasional light foehn tendencies at the edge of the Alps. Seven to 13 degrees in the morning hours will be followed by daytime highs of 20 to 26 degrees.
Already in the night to Monday, a disturbance moves up from the west, during the day it slowly moves eastward. With it, there are not only dense clouds at times, but also numerous rain showers, which are locally also thundery. There will be sunny intervals in front of the disturbance in the east and later again from the west. In the south, too, it will be quite friendly at times. The wind will be moderate from the west, especially on the northern side of the Alps. Early values will range from nine to 16 degrees, rising only to 18 to 23 degrees.
Continued unsettled weather is expected on Tuesday. The sun will show up rather little overall, rain showers are possible in all parts of the country. On the northern side of the Alps, it may also rain for longer periods in some areas. The wind will come from the northwest to the north and blow moderately to briskly. The thermometer will reach seven to 15 degrees Celsius in the morning hours, the daily highs of 15 to 22 degrees Celsius are then to be expected during the course of the day.
