Starting December 13, the Nightjet will run three times a week from Vienna to Paris with a stopover in Munich. Tickets are available for booking now.
The connection is offered jointly by ÖBB with Deutsche Bahn (DB) and France’s SNCF. Departure from Vienna is at 19:40, arrival in Paris the next day at 9:42.
New night train connects Vienna with Paris via Munich
“With the Nightjet from Vienna to Paris, we are setting another milestone for a European night train network,” ÖBB CEO Andreas Matthä also said. He added that additional direct connections are the only way to persuade even more people to switch to rail.
“Europe should grow even closer together, also on the railways,” explained DB Board Member for Passenger Transport Berthold Huber. Together with the European rail companies, a significant expansion of the European night train network is planned, he said. “We want to connect 13 European metropolises of millions with each other overnight in the coming years.” A new night train from Zurich via Basel and Cologne to Amsterdam will also start at Deutsche Bahn’s timetable change on December 13.
