From Sunday to Monday, 1,404 new Corona infections were registered in Austria. This is below the average of the past seven days (1,861).
There are also eight new deaths related to Covid 19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,034 so far. The number of active cases is down by 392 to 20,316, with a seven-day incidence of 146.35.
There are currently 824 people in Austria’s hospitals related to covid disease, up four from the previous day. 220 patients are in intensive care – two more than the day before.
In the past 24 hours, 85,190 PCR tests have been performed, with a positive rate of 1.65 percent.
The 1,643 vaccinations reported were the fewest number of stings in a single day since late January. Overall, 5,751,598 people in this country have received at least a partial vaccination, or 64.4 percent of the population, according to E-vaccination data. 5,433,684 people, or 60.8 percent of Austria’s population, are fully immunized.
The highest vaccination coverage rate (fully immunized) is in Burgenland, at 68.5 percent. In Lower Austria, 63.7 percent of the population is vaccinated, and in Styria, 61.5 percent. After Vienna (59.9), Vorarlberg (59.8), Tyrol (59.1), Carinthia (57.4) and Salzburg (57.2), Upper Austria continues to bring up the rear with a vaccination coverage rate of 56 percent.
