From Sunday to Monday, 1,320 new Corona infections were registered in Austria.
There are also ten new deaths related to Covid-19 infection to report, bringing the pandemic death toll in Austria to 11,106 so far. The number of active cases is down by 368 to 19,734, with a seven-day incidence of 142.50.
There are currently 829 people in Austria’s hospitals related to covid disease, up four from the previous day. 210 patients are in an intensive care unit – that is 14 less than the day before.
In the past 24 hours, 71,589 PCR tests have been performed, with a positive rate of 1.84 percent.
Few vaccinations
With 1,363 stings, fewer immunizations were performed on Sunday than at any time since the vaccination campaign began in January.
According to the E-vaccine passport, 5,787,093 people in Austria have received at least a partial vaccination against Covid-19 so far, or 64.8 percent of the population. 5,478,984 people, or 61.3 percent of the population, are fully immunized.
The highest vaccination coverage rate with fully immunized individuals is in Burgenland, at 68.9 percent. In Lower Austria, 64.1 percent of the population is vaccinated, and in Styria, 62.1 percent. After Vienna with 60.4 percent and Vorarlberg with 60.3 percent, Tyrol (59.6), Carinthia (57.9), Salzburg (57.6) and Upper Austria, which brings up the rear with 56.4 percent, are still below the 60 percent mark for vaccination coverage.
